Jeddah, Dhu-AlHijjah 18, 1435, October 12, 2014, SPA -- The International Islamic Relief Organization (IIRO) of Muslim World League has made an urgent appeal to all international and regional organizations working in the field of humanitarian action to hasten in providing various aid, such as medicines, food and shelter to the people affected by floods in Pakistan which led to the displacement of hundreds of citizens, including large numbers of women, children, the elderly and disabled people. The Organization's Secretary-General Ihsan bin Saleh Tayyib said in a press statement that the affected areas have not seen such floods for more than 60 years, pointing to the demolition of thousands of homes and shops, destruction of large areas of agricultural land, and the death of large numbers of livestock. --SPA 15:16 LOCAL TIME 12:16 GMT www.spa.gov.sa/w
