Riyadh, June 15, 2022, SPA -- The Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Call and Guidance, represented by the Higher Committee for Hajj, Umrah and Visit, has announced the readiness of Al-Khaif Mosque to receive pilgrims after two years of closure due to the COVID-19 pandemic, where the ministry has completed all necessary preparations to provide it with all its needs for pilgrims to perform their rituals with full comfort and tranquility amidst religious atmospheres. The preparations included completing furniture, cleaning, sanitization, maintenance for the air conditioning system, lighting, more than 1,000 toilets, preparing counters for Islamic awareness, fatwa cabinets, increasing the number of electronic monitors, and assigning maintenance companies to work round the clock for cleaning and maintenance purposes and dispatching field supervisors on maintenance works. Al-Khaif Mosque has always received the interest and keenness of Muslim caliphates throughout history. It witnessed its biggest expansion during the Saudi state in 1407 Hijri, where its area now stands at 23,500 square meters and can accommodate 25,000 worshippers.
