National E-Learning Center” Commends UNESCO Accreditation of the Kingdom among Four Best Models in E-learning

Riyadh, June 11, 2021, SPA -- The Minister of Education and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the National E-Learning Center, Dr. Hamad bin Muhammad Al Al-Sheikh, has praised UNESCO’s adoption of the evaluation framework prepared by the Center through the organization’s international study of international best practices in e-learning, which included Saudi Arabia, Republic of Korea, China, and Finland, commending the Kingdom's superiority over many countries in the in e-learning sphere. The minister made his remarks while presiding over the 7th meeting of the Center’s Board of Directors, in the presence of the members of the Council, adding that the Center has made qualitative achievements to bring about the Kingdom’s goals in e-learning, thanks to the unlimited support that the e-learning sector enjoys in the Kingdom, calling for sustaining efforts and strengthening integration and partnership with the relevant authorities, stressing that e-learning has become an essential part of the educational process. For its part, the Board commended the educational efforts made in responding to the challenges of the Coronavirus pandemic, and the transformation of e-learning with efficiency, and the development of the services provided to beneficiaries, in accordance with the second developmental documentation study for e-learning in the Kingdom, conducted by the Organization of the Learning Consortium (OLC), which will be published soon, with the participation of several leading international educational organizations in the field of e-learning. During the meeting, the director of the center Dr. Abdullah bin Muhammad al-Walidy reviewed the center's strategic plan, the standards of excellence in e-learning, the licensed entities and programs, and the mechanism for following up and implementing these programs, in addition to reviewing the initiatives and achievements made within the center's work plan. --SPA 16:27 LOCAL TIME 13:27 GMT 0023 www.spa.gov.sa/w1570460
