Riyadh, November 13, 2021, SPA -- More than 25,000 Yemeni citizens have benefited from King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief) prosthetic limbs project in Yemen which comes as a continuation of the KSrelief’s efforts to alleviate the suffering of the Yemeni people and ensure them a decent living. The prosthetic limbs project comes as one of the qualitative projects implemented by the KSrelief in several Yemeni governorates to help the amputees and provide them with the necessary services free of charge, including the installation of high-quality prosthetic limbs, and rehabilitating them to be productive people, able to work and enjoy a normal life, in addition to training local cadres in this field. The KSrelief implemented the prosthetic limbs project in the Marib General Hospital benefitting the locals in Marib and its districts as well as in the other Yemeni governorates, for securing and installing prosthetic limbs for those who need them as per international standards, training workers, curbing the migration of specialized individuals and raising their capabilities locally and the improvement of performance, benefited 8,132 individuals. The KSrelief also supported the project of operating the prosthetic center in Aden governorate by providing the center with necessary equipment as well as maintaining the building, providing physical rehabilitation services, determining the treatment plan for each patient, providing compensatory health assistance that supports the lives of the injured, re-engaging them in society and following up on their cases, as well as enhancing the skills of the medical and technical staff, benefiting 5,979 individuals. In Taiz, the KSrelief also implemented a project to set up and operate a Prosthetic Limbs and Rehabilitation Center to provide services for the production of various types of prosthetics, physical and psychological rehabilitation for the injured, and provide medical and non-medical needs and supplies for the prosthetics center and others, benefiting 8,530 individuals. The KSrelief also set up a project to operate the prosthetic and rehabilitation center in Seiyun to maintain the headquarters, provide medical and non-medical equipment, and the basic needs and requirements for operating the prosthetic center, provide physical rehabilitation services for people with special needs and rehabilitate medical personnel, benefiting 3,331 individuals. --SPA 20:03 LOCAL TIME 17:03 GMT 0025 www.spa.gov.sa/w1650955
