Saudi Arabia Reviews Investment Opportunities in Energy, Water Sectors at WETEX 2021

Dubai, October 5, 2021, SPA -- The Ministry of Investment and a group of government entities, megaprojects and the private sector are participating in the 2021 Water, Energy, Technology, and Environment Exhibition (WETEX) between October 5 and 7, under the umbrella of "Invest Saudi". The participation aims at reviewing the investment opportunities for companies and investors and showing the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's commitment to attracting qualitative investments in the energy and water sectors and transferring and localizing technology and knowledge in cooperation with public entities and in partnership with the private sector. The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, under the Saudi Vision 2030, is planning to produce 50 percent of its energy needs through renewable energy resources to meet the increasing demand on energy and adding 5.5 million cubic meters of desalinated seawater per day by 2026. The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is the biggest country producing desalinated water and the sixth globally in capabilities of producing solar energy and 13th in the potential of producing wind energy, in addition to ranking 11th in producing electricity power at the global level. --SPA 15:35 LOCAL TIME 12:35 GMT 0008 www.spa.gov.sa/w1630856
