One of the most prominent steps taken by the delegation during its participation was the formation of a new working group within the UNWTO to redraw the future of tourism and revitalize the work of the UNWTO by enabling effective and more transparent work practices, as well as programs and initiatives that respond to the needs of its member states to add real value to the organization. On the occasion, Al-Khatib said, "Despite its relatively recent presence in the international tourism arena, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia plays a major global role in this field," stressing that the country has great tourism ambitions, and seeks to make this sector one of the largest contributing sectors in economic transformation. He added, "Our plan coincides with the Kingdom's Vision 2030, as we seek to receive 100 million international and local visitors, and we also aim to invest 810 billion dollars by 2030 and create one million new jobs in the field of tourism, endeavors that we have succeeded in making good progress so far." --SPA 21:42 LOCAL TIME 18:42 GMT 0046 www.spa.gov.sa/w1661716
