Education Minister Inaugurates Two Digital Colleges for Women in Riyadh and Jeddah

Riyadh, September 16, 2020, SPA -- The Minister of Education and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Technical and Vocational Training Corporation (TVTC) Dr. Hamad bin Mohammed Al Al-Sheikh inaugurated today the first two digital colleges for women in Riyadh and Jeddah with a capacity of more than 4000 trainees, in the presence of the Governor of TVTC Dr. Ahmed bin Fahd Al-Fuhaid. The Minister of Education said in his speech that the government of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and HRH Crown Prince has been keen to make women a cornerstone of this developmental movement, by means of empowerment and the highest levels of support. This has been done through developing women's capabilities, investing in their talents and energies, and creating opportunities for them to obtain suitable jobs. He also pointed out that the TVTC attaches great importance to training women to enhance their roles in achieving the Kingdom's Vision 2030 initiatives, as its strategic goals include increasing the rate of women's participation in the national economy. For his part, the Governor of TVTC said that the digital colleges for women in Riyadh and Jeddah will provide specialized training programs for more than 4,000 trainees in several fields that keep pace with the need of the digital labor market.
