Foreign Minister Participates in Virtual Ministerial Meeting on Afghanistan

Riyadh, September 9, 2021, SPA -- Prince Faisal bin Farhan bin Abdullah, Saudi Minister of Foreign Affairs, participated on Wednesday in the virtual ministerial meeting on Afghanistan. At the beginning of his speech, the Minister of Foreign Affairs expressed his deepest condolences to the people of Afghanistan and the families of the victims who lost their lives in the unfortunate events at Kabul Airport. Prince Faisal bin Abdullah reaffirmed the Kingdom's stand by the people of Afghanistan during this crucial stage of their history, and stressed the Kingdom's support for the Afghan people and the future choices they make for their country without any external interference. The Minister of Foreign Affairs said that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia hopes that the Taliban and all Afghan parties will work to maintain peace and security and protect the lives and property of civilians, and that the formation of the caretaker government in Afghanistan would be a step in the right direction towards achieving security and stability, rejecting violence and extremism and building a bright future for Afghanistan.
