King Khalid University Joins Shanghai Ranking for First Time, Ranks Fifth Among Saudi Universities

Abha, August 18, 2021, SPA – King Khalid University joined the 2021 Shanghai Ranking (ARWU) for the first time, receiving the 801st place at the international level, fifth among Saudi universities and 11th at the Arab level. King Khalid University Vice President for Academic Development and Quality Dr. Merzin Al-Shahrani said that the university’s results this year will be a launching point for better results that suit the reputation of the King Khalid University at the local and international levels. Shanghai Ranking uses four standards to classify world universities. The first is related to education quality with 10%, where it measures the number of graduates receiving Nobel prizes or international medals in some academic specializations. The second is the quality of faculty members with 40% in terms of receiving Nobel prizes or international medals in some academic specializations.
