Geneva, Aug. 18, 2021, SPA -- The World Health Organization (WHO) confirmed today it is committed to remain operating in Afghanistan and providing crucial health and medical services in the country, calling for the protection of civilians, health practitioners and patients as well as health facilities and guaranteeing their safety and security. In a statement, WHO Regional Director for the Eastern Mediterranean Dr. Ahmed Al-Mandhari said basic health services and health supplies represent life artery for millions of Afghan people that should not cease.
