PNU Grabs 1st Place Locally and Regionally in The University Impact Ranking 2021”

Riyadh, April 22, 2021, SPA -- Princess Nourah bint Abdulrahman University (PNU) ranked first locally and regionally, and 27 globally, in the “The University Impact Ranking 2021” in its third edition. The university also ranked 1st globally in the 5th goal of the sustainable development goals "gender equality", being the largest women's university in the world focusing on qualifying and empowering women to participate in development and decision-making. The PNU also maintained its current ranking based on the best results achieved in (4) goals, namely: gender equality, decent work and economic growth, reducing inequality, and partnerships to achieve the goals. The university had embarked on its preparations in July 2020, including studying all sustainable development goals with the international classifications team and the indicators required to measure each goal and setting goals based on the indicators supporting each goal, in order to apply for this classification which is divided into (4) stages. Further, the university rector also issued a decision under which a permanent committee was formed to meet the requirements of international classifications, in addition to reviewing the indicators and preparing the required reports, and submitting them to the body in charge of the classification. Princess Nourah bint Abdulrahman University's progress, in the third edition of the classification, reflects the amount of its interest in sustainability through achieving a number of criteria and indicators in various activities and practices in the fields of teaching, scientific research, community service, and measuring their impact based on the 17 United Nations goals for sustainable development, which is a plan and a framework towards achieving sustainable societies that address regional and global challenges. --SPA 21:59 LOCAL TIME 18:59 GMT 0038 www.spa.gov.sa/w1547645
