Jeddah, Jan 7, 2020, SPA -- The Secretary General of the Regional Commission for Conservation of the Red Sea and the Gulf of Aden Environment Dr. Ziyad bin Hamza Abu Gharara said that the signing by the ministers of foreign affairs of the Council of Arab and African states bordering (littoral) the Red Sea and the Gulf of Aden of the founding pact, reflects the countries ’awareness of the importance of coordination and cooperation to achieve stability and security, in the region, especially in the face of unusual conditions and the growing challenges the region is going through. He added that: The formation of this council is an indispensable necessity, at the current stage, as it sets the legal and institutional framework for continuous consultation and exchange of visions and experiences for all that is good for the countries and peoples of the region, foremost of which is coordination of efforts to maintain the security and stability of the region and the sustainability of social and economic development and stave off risks that the interests of the countries of the region may face or impede development in their countries.
