Jeddah, November 27, 2019, SPA -- The General Secretariat of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) held here yesterday a major symposium entitled "Prospects for joint Islamic action" as part of the activities of the 50th anniversary celebration. The symposium, which is moderated by Ambassador Saud Katib, Undersecretary for Public Diplomacy Affairs at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, featured a number of speakers who focused on main themes concerning OIC. Associate Professor at the Department of Political Science of King Abdulaziz University Dr. Walid Al-Sudairy discussed "OIC : the Challenges in a transforming world order", representing the changes in world order and the challenges that the Islamic world faces. Minority Specialist at OIC Dr. Hassan Abdeen discussed "Muslim communities and minorities between inclusion and exclusion", conforming the role of the Organization in preserving Islamic social and economic values, promoting solidarity amongst member states and protecting human dignity. At the economical level, General Manager of State Relations and Services at the Islamic Development Bank Group Dr. Walid Abdel Wahab presented a paper entitled: "Investment and development in the Islamic world: stakes and challenges". Director General and Chief Executive Officer of National Emergency Management Agency of Nigeria Mustapha Younes Maihaja tackled Humanitarian action and talked about "Humanitarian action in the Islamic world: reality and expectations". Director of the Directorate of Culture in ISESCO Dr. Najib Al Ghiati discussed the last theme entitled "Dialogue with the other within cultural diplomacy". At the conclusion of the ceremony, the assistant Secretary General of Organization of Islamic Cooperation Yousif Aldobiey honored the participants in the symposium. --SPA www.spa.gov.sa/w1217855
