Hanoi, Rabi'I 15, 1438, Dec 14, 2016, SPA -- Flooding has left two dead in the southern Vietnamese coastal city of Nha Trang, dpa cited local media as reporting Wednesday. The rising water levels, which were caused by a ruptured canal, left parts of the beach resort city submerged in nearly a metre of water and caused numerous rock and mudslides throughout Tuesday, the Tuoi Tre newspaper reported. A 14-year-old boy reportedly drowned after being washed away by flood water while a 22-year-old man was electrocuted. The heaviest damage was concentrated in the Hon Xen residential area, with no damage reported around the main beachfront, popular with foreign tourists. A mudslide also temporarily blocked National Highway 1, one of the country's main north-south transportation routes.
