Muscat, October 17, 2019, SPA – The Ministers of Interior of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) for Arab States honored the winners of the Prince Naif bin Abdulaziz Award for Security Research of the GCC 2017, during their 36th meeting concluded yesterday, in the Omani capital Muscat. The GCC Ministers of Interior also honored the President of the Saudi Press Agency (SPA), Abdullah bin Fahd Al-Hussein, for his efforts in promoting Prince Naif bin Abdulaziz Award for Security Research, and the former and current members of the Award's Commission. It is worth mentioning that the award was approved by the GCC Interior Ministers in their 16th meeting held in November 1997 under the name of "GCC Award for Research and Security Studies", where the name of the award was changed afterward to Prince Naif bin Abdulaziz for Security Research for the GCC, in recognition of his distinguished role in supporting, enhancing and developing the joint Gulf action in the security field. -- SPA 13:45 LOCAL TIME 10:45 GMT 0009 www.spa.gov.sa/w1192780
