Riyadh, Jumada II 15, 1438, March 14, 2017, SPA -- The first meeting of its kind between the political affairs and negotiations department of the GCC secretariat general, the federation of the GCC chambers and representatives of chambers of commerce and industry in member countries was held in Riyadh today to discuss coordination and cooperation between the GCC and the private sectors of the member countries on issues relating to economic and commercial negotiations which are taking place between the GCC collectively, the member countries and other regional and international economic blocs. In remarks following the meeting, Dr. Abdulaziz bin Hamad Al-Owaisheq, Assistant Secretary General of the GCC for political and negotiations affairs, said the meeting comes as part of coordination between the GCC and the private sector, noting that the meeting has reached a general understanding on mechanisms of contacts and coordination with the private sector to take into consideration their interests and viewpoints on negotiations and dialogue being held within the GCC. --SPA 22:10 LOCAL TIME 19:10 GMT www.spa.gov.sa/w353487
