Minister of Labor meets with Filipino counterpart

Riyadh, Dhu-AlQa'dah 14, 1437, August 17, 2016, SPA -- Minister of Labor and Social Development Dr. Mufrej bin Saad Al-Gahtani discussed at his office in Riyadh today with visiting Minister of Labor and Employment of the Republic of The Philippines Sylvester Pelly and the accompanying delegation a wide-range issues of mutual concern and ways of enhancing bilateral cooperation in the field of labor and laborers between the two countries in the attendance of the Charge d'Affaires of The Philippines in the Kingdom Erik Cruis and a number of officials. The minister conveyed the Filipino president appreciation of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud for the good treatment of the Saudi authorities in the aftermath of the delay of salaries of Filipino laborers, lauding the measures taken by the Saudi government and its efforts to provide the necessary care and services for the affected Filipino laborers and provision of all facilities to resolve the problem, citing granting freedom of going back home for the Filipino laborers at the expense of the Saudi government or transfer their sponsorship to other sponsors and assign lawyers to follow-up the issue in cooperation with the embassy of The Philippines in the Kingdom. For his part, Al-Gahtani confirmed the resolve and determination of the Saudi government, upon instructions of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, to solve the problems of all affected foreign laborers.
