Riyadh, Rabi'II 16, 1438, January 14, 2017, SPA -- General staff chiefs of fourteen countries of the Global Coalition against ISIS are meeting in a conference in the Saudi Capital, Riyadh on Sunday 15th of January to further enhance coordination among Global Coalition countries. Saudi Arabia, USA, Jordan, UAE, Bahrain, Turkey, Tunisia, Oman, Qatar, Kuwait, Lebanon, Malaysia, Morocco and Nigeria will discuss approaches to enhance the efforts of the coalition to paralyze and destroy ISIS capabilities. General Abdulrahman bin Saleh Al Bunyan, chief of the general staff of Saudi Arabia, said: "Saudi Arabia is committed to supporting all international efforts against terrorist organizations and groups that threaten the security and safety of the region and the world. Today’s event in Riyadh, which is taking place under the guidance the Saudi leadership and Deputy Crown Prince, Second Deputy Premier and Minister of Defence Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, reflects the ongoing determination and commitment of the kingdom of Saudi Arabia to support all international efforts to counter terrorist organizations. Saudi Arabia is determined to stop terrorists from undermining stability in the MENA region, to eliminate potential threats to international peace and security, and ultimately to destroy these terrorist groups." Gen. Al Bunyan said Saudi Arabia was one of the countries that had suffered most from terrorism. It had always been an ISIS target. But it had always reacted strongly and was ever more determined to continue the fight against all forms of terrorism, taking all necessary measures and working closely with Saudi Arabia’s coalition allies. Saudi Arabia was one of the first countries to call for a coalition to fight terrorism on all fronts: military, financially and intellectually. Since the Global Coalition against ISIS was formed in 2014 Saudi Arabia has donated 500 million US dollars for relief efforts in Iraq, and has participated in air strikes against ISIS and supported intelligence operations with coalition partners. More than 60 countries are members of the coalition working jointly to tackling ISIS.
