Riyadh, Dhu-AlQa'dah 20, 1437, August 23, 2016, SPA -- Dr. Mifrej bin Saad Al-Hagbani, Minister of Labor and Social Development, had a meeting at his office in Riyadh today with the Charge d'Affaires of the French embassy in Riyadh Eric Jero Telm and the accompanying delegation. During the meeting, the two sides discussed a number of issues of mutual concern, and ways of enhancing bilateral relations in the field of labor and laborers, with emphasis on creating appropriate mechanisms to promote them, as well as the situations of French workers in the private sector of the Kingdom. For his part, Al-Hagbani briefed the French senior diplomat on the instructions issued by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud to find solutions to the delay of payments to foreign laborers in the Kingdom, provide basic requirements for them, including food, medical and health services, and facilitate their return back home if they opted to do, otherwise have the option of transferring their sponsorships to other sponsors. The minister reassured the French diplomat that the Ministry is working on offering lawyers at the expense of the Saudi government to sue the issue of delayed payments, and protection of other rights, citing that representatives of labor courts have moved to the sites of laborers who are complaining from certain situations. --SPA 17:27 LOCAL TIME 14:27 GMT www.spa.gov.sa/w
