Vienna, Rabi'I 05, 1438, December 04, 2016, SPA -- Austrian voters are casting their ballots Sunday to decide the drawn-out presidential race between far-right candidate Norbert Hofer and his Green rival Alexander Van der Bellen, dpa reported. The election of Austria's president, a mostly ceremonial role, has received international attention, as a victory for Hofer of the Freedom Party could boost similar populist eurosceptic movements in other countries. Van der Bellen, a former Green party leader, had won a first run-off election in May, when he received 50.3 per cent of the ballots, less than 31,000 votes ahead of Hofer. However, the Freedom Party successfully appealed the result and won a repetition of the election, by presenting evidence of ballot counting irregularities. Voter surveys point to another close race on Sunday. --SPA 10:25 LOCAL TIME 07:25 GMT www.spa.gov.sa/w282502
