Paris, Rajab 14, 1437, Apr 21, 2016, SPA -- Europe's third-biggest automotive company, Renault, posted on Thursday revenues of 10.5 billion euros (11.86 billion dollars) for the first quarter of 2016, marking a surge in business on growing demand in Europe's car market, dpa reported. The figure was a 11.7-per-cent increase on revenue results for the same period last year, the French company said at its headquarters in Boulogne-Billancourt in the western suburbs of Paris. Unit sales of Renault cars internationally went up 7.3 per cent, well above a market average of 1.5 per cent. The French carmaker does not report quarterly profits. Sales remained sluggish in Russia, Algeria and Brazil, with Renault expecting business to shrink by between 15 and 20 per cent in the troubled South American economy over the course of 2016. -- SPA 21:50 LOCAL TIME 18:50 GMT www.spa.gov.sa/w
