Brussels, Dhu-AlQa'dah 07, 1437, August 10, 2016, SPA -- The all clear has been given at Brussels airport following a suspected bomb alert, the Belgian Red Cross said Wednesday evening, according to dpa. The airport took "several measures" following a threat that was being taken "very seriously," a federal prosecution spokesman had said earlier, according to the Belga news agency. VRT broadcaster reported bomb alerts on two flights headed for the airport, without giving further details. VRT said rescue services had been placed on high alert. The local fire brigade had said that an "intervention" was under way, but it did not know whether the threat was real, Belga wrote. The airport was the scene of explosions earlier in the year when, on March 22, two attackers blew themselves up there, while a third set off explosives at an underground station in the Belgian capital, killing more than 30 people overall. --SPA 22:16 LOCAL TIME 19:16 GMT www.spa.gov.sa/w
