Yemeni President Receives Ould Cheikh, in Aden, Delivers Government's Response to Proposed Road Map

Aden, Rabi'I 2, 1438, Dec 1, 2016, SPA -- Yemeni President Abdu Rabbo Mansur Hadi handed over to the Special Envoy of the Secretary-General of the United Nations to Yemen Ismail Ould Cheikh a message, which included refutation of the Yemeni government of the road map provided by the UN envoy. According to the official Yemeni news agency, the government's response to the road map of Ould Cheikh was meant to correct the path and enable success of peace efforts in Yemen, according to the specific terms of references. During the reception, the president discussed with Ould Cheikh the chances for peace and available and possible prospects, in the presence of the Yemeni Premier Dr. Ahmed bin Dagher. On the other hand, Hadi noted the UN envoy tirelessly exerted efforts to bring peace about, in Yemen, based on terms of reference stated in the GCC sponsored initiative, the outputs of the National Dialogue and UN resolutions, particularly the Resolution 2216, reiterating commitment to peace and looking forward to a serious peace, which does not carry with it seeds of a next war and providing safe future for Yemen and the next generations. Yemeni president also pointed to the sincere interest of his government in peace and the participation of its delegation in various consultations' stations, in response to the United Nations and the international community, sponsoring consultation and peace calls, and expressing at the same time regrets over to the putsches arrogant, haughty and intransigent stance, towards peace endeavors, shown by the putschists.
