Brussels, Jumada I 11, 1437, Feb 20, 2016, SPA -- British Prime Minister David Cameron says he is ready to recommend that his country remain in the European Union, following a reform deal which he says will ensure that Britain never is "part of a European superstate." "There will be tough new restrictions on access to our welfare system for EU migrants," he says, noting that Britain has secured an "emergency brake" which, once activated, can be applied for seven years to restrict access to British in-work benefits. "Britain will never join the euro, and we have secured vital protections for our economy," he says, while noting that EU treaties will be changed to clarify that the concept of "ever closer union" does not apply to Britain. "I believe that this is enough for me to recommend that the United Kingdom remain in the EU, having the best of both worlds," Cameron says. "Britain will be stronger remaining in a reformed Europe than we would be out on our own." -- SPA 03:23 LOCAL TIME 00:23 GMT www.spa.gov.sa/w
