Madrid, Jumada I 20, 1437, Feb 29, 2016, SPA -- A tour group of 82 people was rescued from a snowed-in train station in the mountains of central Spain, police said Monday according to dpa. Fifteen children were in the group that was stranded at the station at an altitude of 1,800 metres in the Guadarrama mountains after heavy snowfall prevented trains from operating. The railway tracks were covered in 1.5 metres of snow. Firefighters and police rescue units brought the hikers to safety. No one was injured in the rescue operation. In snow-releated incidents in other parts of the country, two women were found dead in eastern Spain. They went missing during a hike from the town of Morella. About a dozen mountain passes were closed in northern Spain because of snow Monday, according to the Transportation Department. --SPA 18:01 LOCAL TIME 15:01 GMT www.spa.gov.sa/w
