Jeddah, Ramadan 12, 1437, June 17, 2016, SPA -- GCC Financial and Economic Cooperation Committee held here on Thursday an extraordinary meeting at the level of GCC ministers of finance and economy, under the chairmanship of Bahrain's Minister of Finance Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed Al Khalifa, on behalf of Saudi Minister of Finance Dr. Ibrahim Al-Assaf. The Saudi delegation at the meeting was led by Director General of Customs Authority Saleh Bin Manie' Al-Khelaiwi. In a press statement following the meeting, Bahraini Minister of Finance said that the meeting agreed on the two drafts of the value-added tax and the selective tax, noting that there are a lot of technical details that will be discussed in the coming period. For his part, GCC Secretary General Dr. Abdalatif Zayani said that the meeting was an extraordinary meeting to follow up on the two drafts of the value-added tax and selective tax and there are some details that need further study and clarifications, noting that the meeting decided to charge the undersecretaries in the concerned ministries and the technical committees with the study of these details and submit their results to the ministers at their next meeting. --SPA 03:19 LOCAL TIME 00:19 GMT www.spa.gov.sa/w
