Sao Paulo, Jumada II 3, 1437, Mar 12, 2016, SPA -- Brazilian President Dilma Rousseff flew Saturday over areas hitted by heavy flooding and mudslides that killed at least 20 people in the state of Sao Paulo, AP reported. Before returning to the capital city of Brasilia, Rousseff told reporters the government will make emergency funds available to help families affected by the floods and mudslides. Details were not immediately available. Sao Paulo's fire department said that 18 of the victims were killed in mudslides and the other two drowned in the floodwaters that hit more than 10 cities in the outskirts of the metropolitan area. At least five people were still reported missing following the heavy rains that began late Thursday and continued Friday. The rains shut Sao Paulo's International Airport for six hours on Thursday and halted commuter train service for several hours. -- SPA 23:11 LOCAL TIME 20:11 GMT www.spa.gov.sa/w
