Islamabad, Muharram 22, 1437, Nov 4, 2015, SPA -- The roof of a multi-storey factory collapsed in Pakistan on Wednesday, killing at least 16 workers and leaving about 150 trapped under the rubble, dpa quoted officials as saying. Rescuers were cutting through steel bars to look for survivors in an industrial district of the eastern city of Lahore, police official Haider Ashraf said. At least 16 bodies have so far been retrieved, said Shahbaz Sharif, the chief minister of the central province of Punjab. More than 80 injured people were being treated at two nearby hospitals, Lahore's chief administrator Mohamed Usman said. The death toll was expected to rise given the large number of people trapped, Usman said. "There might be dead among them." Police official Ashraf said rescuers were working to remove the debris and make sure that the rubble did not fall on potential survivors. -- SPA 22:18 LOCAL TIME 19:18 GMT www.spa.gov.sa/w
