New York, Rabi'II 4, 1437, Jan 14, 2016, SPA -- The current El Nino weather phenomenon is expected to weaken during the Northern Hemisphere spring 2016 and transition to neutral in late spring or early summer, a U.S. government forecaster said Thursday. The Climate Prediction Center (CPC), an agency of the National Weather Service (NWS), in its monthly forecast said most models indicate the El Nino will weaken in the coming months, though it is difficult to predict the exact timing. El Nino, a warming of waters in the eastern tropical Pacific Ocean, causes changes in temperature and precipitation across the globe, most severely in countries that border the Pacific. --SPA 20:52 LOCAL TIME 17:52 GMT www.spa.gov.sa/w
