Arab foreign ministers reiterate condemnation of Iran for interfering in domestic affairs of Arab countries

Cairo, 13 Rabi'I, 1437, December 24, 2015, SPA -- The Arab league Council today reiterated its condemnation of Iran's interference in domestic affairs of Arab countries, which is considered a violation of the international law and the good neighborhood principles as well poses a serious threat to regional and international security and peace. In a statement at its today's extraordinary meeting, held at the headquarters of the Arab League in Cairo at the level of foreign ministers, the Council demanded Iran to refrain from using force or threatening with it and desist from the violations, provocative actions and attempts to wedge sedition and sectarian difference among the citizens of the Arab countries or through supporting subversion, terrorism or instigating for the use of violence or irresponsible statements issued by senior Iranian officials, also considered breaches of the internal affairs of the Arab sovereign and independent states, a matter considered negative to confidence-building, threatens security and stability in the region, and poses a violation to the international laws and norms and the principles of the UN and the Arab League charter. The statement also called on Iran to translate into practical and tangible steps in word and deeds what it announces as a wish to improve its relations with the Arab countries, hold dialogue with them and remove tensions. --SPA 21:03 LOCAL TIME 18:03 GMT www.spa.gov.sa/w
