Islamabad, Rabi'I 29, 1437, Jan 9, 2016, SPA -- Pakistan expressed concern today over North Korea’s announcement that it has tested a hydrogen nuclear bomb, considering it a flagrant violation of the UN Security Council's resolutions and a real threat to the international peace and security. In a statement, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Pakistan reaffirmed its support for all international efforts to ban proliferation of weapons of mass destruction, and calls upon North Korea to strictly adhere to its commitment of the non- proliferation of nuclear weapons treaty, NPT, under the safeguards system of the International Atomic Energy Agency. The Ministry has urged the international community to take all necessary measures to confront any violations of the NPT in order to preserve international security and peace.
