Geneva, Rabi'I 11, 1437, Dec 22, 2015, SPA -- Yemen government and coup delegations will probably hold new round of talks in mid-January 2016, it was announced here today. In a statement, Dr. Abdulmalik Al-Mikhlafi, head of the Yemeni government delegation at Geneva II consultations, said a new round of talks between the Yemeni government and rebels delegations would probably take place mid-January 2016, adding that Yemen's permanent delegation to the United Nations in Geneva was assured by the world community representatives that the rebels would be committed to release the detainees and facilitate the delivery of relief assistance to besieged cities before starting the forthcoming consultations. According to the state-run Yemeni News Agency, Al-Mikhlafi, who is also the Deputy Premier and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Yemen, confirmed that any political settlement would focus on the UN Security Council's resolution No. 2216, the GCC initiative, and the outcomes of the national dialogue. He went on to say that President Abdrabbou Mansour Hadi of Yemen has instructed the concerned authorities to extend by one more week the ceasefire to give time to the other party to respond to reason, and logic and stop the Yemeni bloodshed. During a meeting in Geneva, Al-Mikhlafi directed Yemen's ambassadors in key capitals of the word to focus on the directives of Yemen's foreign policy over the coming period, discussed with them the political and humanitarian developments at the national arena and briefed them on the outcome of consultations between the government and rebels delegations. --SPA 21:59 LOCAL TIME 18:59 GMT www.spa.gov.sa/w
