In the name of Allah most gracious, most compassionate I am pleased to be with you in this day, and we are, thanks be to Allah, in a strongly united society at all levels: media staff, the educated, and all people of the country enjoy a brotherly love and in full agreement on righteousness and fear of Allah. Brothers, sisters, men, and women of the home of Islam and Muslims, a home toward which Muslims in the world face five times a day in their prayers, our information media must always be a reflection of our way in following the Quran and the prophet’s tradition-a way on which this country is founded. Makkah, the place where Allah’s message was revealed and the town of Allah’s prophet, is towards which Muslims pray, and this has a significance of which our writers and thinkers should be cognizant and they are fully aware of the immense importance of this country. Yes; the Kingdom forms the major part of the Arabian Peninsula, the origin of Arabs and the origin of the Book and the prophet’s tradition. I always say and often repeat: suffice it a glory that the Quran was revealed to an Arab prophet in an Arab homeland in an Arab tongue. This in itself is an immense bounty. However, it is also a greater responsibility. We have to bring up our youth-men and women- with this in mind so that they know with certainty what importance their homeland enjoys. We, thanks be to Allah, enjoy security and stability. Pilgrims and Umrah performers along with other visitors, move in tranquil peace between Makkah and Madinah; they similarly move from the Red Sea to the Gulf, and from the South to the North, This is a great bounty of Allah to which we ought to be thankful. Such stability and security came about only when this State - where we are now- when it was established in accordance with the Quran and tradition by King Abdul Aziz and followed by his sons: King Saud, King Faisal, King Khalid, King Fahad, and King Abdullah. Therefore we, State and people, have one direction-thanks be to Allah. I would like to say that we, along with the Crown Prince and the Deputy Crown Prince and our sons, do shoulder the responsibility now. May Allah grace whoever draws my attention to my errors. Those in media may write whatever they write. And we do welcome what you think deserves attention: our phones are available, permission is granted, and the doors of our Majlis are open. I repeat it a second time: I welcome and greet you, and will always see you- Allah willing- with bless and goodwill. I pray that Allah grace all with success.
