Ouagadougou, Dhu-AlHijjah 09, 1436, September 23, 2015, SPA -- Burkina Faso's interim President Michel Kafando said Wednesday he had reassumed his duties, one week after he was ousted in a coup and the country was plunged into crisis, dpa reported. The government was back at work, Kafando said on national television. Representatives of the presidential guard, who were behind the coup, and the loyalist army signed an agreement late Tuesday in the capital to end the hostilities. The presidential guard agreed to remain confined to barracks, while the loyalists said they would retreat to 50 kilometres from Ouagadougou. The agreement also guarantees that members of the presidential guard will not be harmed. --SPA 13:54 LOCAL TIME 10:54 GMT www.spa.gov.sa/w
