BAMAKO, Rabi'II 26, 1437, Feb 5, 2016, SPA -- Unknown assailants attacked a U.N. peacekeeping base and a Malian army checkpoint on the outskirts of Mali's northern city of Timbuktu early on Friday, Reuters cited residents and military sources as saying.
