Washington, Safar 25, 1437, December 07, 2015, SPA -- The US government is planning to revamp its public alert system for terrorist threats, Homeland Security Secretary Jeh Johnson said Monday, according to dpa. Speaking at a forum in Washington, Johnson said that he hoped to announced changes "in the coming days" to his department's National Terrorism Advisory System. The current system, which replaced an earlier colour-coded system in 2011, is meant to provide public information about threats, including targets, locations and recommendations for protective action. The system is coordinated with the Homeland Security Department's "If You See Something, Say Something" campaign. The current system has a "trigger that's a pretty high bar, which is why we've never used it," Johnson said.
