Dhaka, Jumada I 22, 1436, Mar 13, 2015, SPA -- The death toll in the collapse of an under-construction building in Bangladesh has risen to seven after rescuers found two more bodies, dpa quoted officials as saying Friday. Fifty-five people were rescued after the roof of the four-storey cement plant collapsed on them Thursday in Mongla industrial area, police officer Nizamul Hoque Molla said. "The rescuers found two more bodies in the rubble Friday, raising the death toll to seven," Molla said. Survivors and local residents estimated that at least 100 people were working on site when the building collapsed in the country's south-west. Mizanur Rahman, a rescuer from the firefighting unit, estimated at least 35 people were still trapped inside. Rescuers from the fire service and civil defence department, army, coast guard and paramilitary troops from the border guard were almost at the end of removing debris, he said. The building might have collapsed because of a flawed structure, said Talikder Abdul Khaleque, a lawmaker from the constituency. -- SPA 11:19 LOCAL TIME 08:19 GMT www.spa.gov.sa/w
