BUJUMBURA, Rajab 17, 1436, May 06, 2015, SPA -- Nearly 40,000 refugees have fled Burundi to neighbouring Rwanda, Tanzania and the Democratic Republic of the Congo in the last month, amid protests against President Pierre Nkurunziza's bid for a third term, the United Nations said on Wednesday, Reuters reported. The U.N. refugee agency UNHCR said 39,091 Burundians had sought asylum in neighbouring states since the start of April.
