Yaounde, Rabi'I 26, 1436, Jan 17, 2015, SPA -- Thousands of Chadian soldiers entered Cameroon on Saturday to help it fight the Nigerian group Boko Haram, a spokesman for the Defence Ministry in Yaounde said. The troops crossed the border in the morning on their way to Maroua, the capital of the Far North region, Didier Badjeck told dpa. The troops had dozens of tanks, Badjeck added. He said the government would later give more details on the troops and their equipment. The Far North region, where Cameroon had already deployed more than 1,000 troops, has suffered constant attacks by Boko Haram. The Chadian parliament agreed on Friday to send troops to Cameroon. -- SPA 20:40 LOCAL TIME 17:40 GMT www.spa.gov.sa/w
