Parliamentary Union of the OIC countries calls on Yemenis to abide by the Gulf initiative

Istanbul, Rabi'II 3, 1436, Jan 23, 2015, SPA -- The Parliamentary Union of the OIC Member States deeply regretted the latest developments in Sanaa. The union called on all parties to commit to the implementation of the Gulf initiative and its executive mechanisms and the outputs of the national dialogue and the agreement of peace and national partnership and what was agreed on at the national dialogue table as irreplaceable political and security mechanism in such circumstances in Yemen with the participation of all parties, without exclusion of any party. In its final communiqué at the end of its tenth session hosted by Istanbul, with the participation of a delegation from the Shura Council, headed by chairman of the Council Sheikh Dr. Abdullah Bin Mohammed Bin Ibrahim Al-Sheikh, the union called on the governments of Member States of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, particularly states with distinguished influence, to support Yemen financially and morally out of the worsening crisis and the difficult exceptional circumstances to ensure the preservation of its unity, security and stability. The union tackled a number of other issues including the city of Alquds. In its statement, the union stressed that the city of Alquds is a red line.
