Addressing the Forum, Prince Sultan bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, President of Saudi Commission for Tourism and Antiquities expressed his thanks and appreciation to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Saud for approving the holding of this forum for briefing on King Abdullah project for care of civilizational heritage in universities in the Kingdom under the patronage of Governors of Regions starting from King Saud University, stressing the importance of briefing on the national heritage and the project as historical, national and important one aiming to make a quantum leap in the programs and projects of the national heritage. For his part, Prince Turki bin Abdullah bin Abdulaziz stressed in his speech the Kingdom's interest in national heritage, saying, "It is a pleasure to welcome you to the opening of the Civilizational Forum organized by the Saudi Commission for Tourism and Antiquities and King Saud University in a scientific partnership which embodies the extent of cooperation existing between the State's sectors and hosted by Riyadh, which along with its Governorates are rich in archaeological and heritage sites." --More 11:06 LOCAL TIME 08:06 GMT www.spa.gov.sa/w
