Manila, Shawwal 18, 1435, Aug 14, 2014, SPA -- Philippine President Benigno Aquino hinted he might drop his opposition to amending the constitution and consider serving a second term, dpa reported. "That doesn't automatically mean I'll be chasing after another term," he quickly added, speaking in a television interview late Wednesday. The Philippine constitution limits presidential mandates to one term, after the rule of late president Ferdinand Marcos who ruled for 20 years before he was ousted by a popular uprising in 1986. The current term limitations were put in place by Aquino's late mother, former president Corazon Aquino, in 1987. --SPA 17:06 LOCAL TIME 14:06 GMT www.spa.gov.sa/w
