Kuala Lumpur, Safar 27, 1436, December 19, 2014, SPA -- An Australian mother of four was indicted for drug trafficking Friday in a Malaysian court after being caught with 1.5 kilograms of methamphetamine, dpa quoted an official as saying. Maria Elvira Pinto Exposto, 51, did not enter a plea at the Magistrate's Court in Sepang town in the outskirt of Kuala Lumpur, customs deputy public prosecutor Hasifulkhair Jamaluddin said. If convicted, Exposto faces the country's mandatory death penalty for trafficking more than a certain amount of narcotics. The accused arrived at the Kuala Lumpur International Airport on December 7 from Shanghai, booked on a connecting flight to Melbourne. While passing through the scanner at the arrival hall, customs officials found the drugs wrapped in plastic inside a secret compartment in her luggage. -- SPA 11:30 LOCAL TIME 08:30 GMT www.spa.gov.sa/w
