OIC Secretary General Iyad bin Amin Madani delivered a speech in which he stressed that the meeting was held to take a stance that expresses OIC's firm support for the Palestinian people and to exert all efforts in order to stop the bloodshed of the Palestinian people and to defend their legitimate rights. He also said that OIC has launched an appeal to the international community and its institutions to intervene immediately to stop this aggression and to secure the immediate humanitarian needs, expressing hope that the meeting will issue recommendations that contribute to putting an end to this blatant Israeli aggression against the Palestinian people. For his part, Palestinian Prime Minister Dr. Rami Hamdallah called for an urgent and effective action to stop all human-rights violations, war crimes, state terrorism and settlers' terrorism against the Palestinian people. He also called for an end to the policy of collective punishment and the use of lethal and indiscriminate force against the civilians.
