Washington, Ramadan 7, 1435, Jul 4, 2014, SPA -- The U.N. General Assembly's budget committee Thursday approved the budget for its peacekeeping missions. The overall budget for the fiscal year July 1, 2014-June 30, 2015, is estimated at $8.6 billion, an increase from the $7.83 billion budget that expired June 30. It covers 17 missions and roughly 100,000 peacekeepers.
