Jeddah, Dhu-AlQa'dah 10, 1435, Sep 5, 2014, SPA -- With a finger touch at the electronic screen and in the presence of visiting King Hamad bin Issa Al Khalifa of Bahrain, the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Saud inaugurated at his palace in Jeddah this evening phase I of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques project for border security. Then, the two monarchs saw a documentary film on the several phases of the project. Using an illustrative replica, Prince Mohammed bin Naif bin Abdulaziz, Minister of Interior, briefed the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Saud on the details of the project. For his part, the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques expressed thanks to and appreciation of whoever contributed to the project, wishing them every success. The event was attended by Crown Prince Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, the Deputy Premier and Minister of Defense; Prince Khalid bin Bandar bin Abdulaziz, Chief of General Intelligence; Prince Mohammed bin Naif bin Abdulaziz, Minister of Interior; Prince Abdulaziz bin Abdullah bin Abdulaziz, Deputy Foreign Minister; Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, Minister of State, Member of the Cabinet and Special Advisor to the Crown Prince, members of the official accompanying delegation of the King of Bahrain and a number of officials. The highly-equipped border security project includes 3397 trainees, 60 trainers, eight command and control center, 32 rapid response centers, three rapid intervention squads, 38 back and front gates, 78 monitoring towers, 10 monitoring and surveillance vehicles, 1450000 meters of fiber optics networks, 50 radars, and 900-kilometer security fence, reducing the number of infiltrators, drug traffickers, weapon and cattle smugglers to zero level today. -- SPA 00:20 LOCAL TIME 21:20 GMT www.spa.gov.sa/w
