Beirut, Shawwal 25, 1435, Aug 21, 2014, SPA -- More than 180,000 people have been killed in Syria's civil war, a monitoring group says, an increase of 9,000 from July's estimate, according to dpa. The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights says it has documented 180,215 deaths, including 9,428 children. The toll includes 89,286 civilians, 6,063 of them women, according to the Britain-based watchdog. More than 68,000 people were killed while fighting for President Bashar al-Assad, including 40,438 soldiers, 25,927 militia members and 2,415 mainly Shiite fighters.
