Washington, Ramadan 29, 1435, July 26, 2014, SPA -- The White House announced on Friday that President Barack Obama will attend the U.N. summit on climate change in September, coinciding with the U.N. General Assembly meetings and a Clinton Global Initiative annual meeting. U.N. Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon invited heads of state and other leaders to the September 23 summit in New York, in an effort to encourage them to make commitments to address climate change. There will be a global climate talk in Paris one year after the U.N. summit aimed at reducing greenhouse gas emissions. Obama hopes to reduce 17 percent of U.S. emissions by 2020 from 2005 levels. --SPA 13:19 LOCAL TIME 10:19 GMT www.spa.gov.sa/w
