Paris, Shawwal 22, 1435, August 18, 2014, SPA -- Two French climbers and their guide died in a fall on a peak in the Mont Blanc range, local authorities said Monday, according to dpa. The bodies of the mountaineers were found Sunday on the Aiguille du Midi, a sheer, 3,842-metre peak next to Mont Blanc in the French Alps. Chamonix mountain police said the victims fell more than 800 metres to their deaths, apparently after their rope came loose. The discovery of the bodies came four days after five French people on a climbing course with a local guide were found dead on the 3,901-metre Aiguille d'Argentiere peak, also after a fall. The deaths bring to about 20 the number of people who have died or disappeared in the Mont Blanc range since the start of the summer climbing season. --SPA 11:45 LOCAL TIME 08:45 GMT www.spa.gov.sa/w
