Tel Aviv, Ramadan 22, 1435, Jul 19, 2014, SPA -- Israel is pressing its ground operation into southern Gaza, military officials said Saturday, as medics said at least 80 Palestinians have died since infantry soldiers entered the coastal enclave three days ago. Since the start of the operation, which began with an air offensive on July 8 the military said was aimed at ending rocket fire and destroying tunnels leading into Israel, at least 340 Palestinians have been killed and more than 2,500 wounded, according to medics.
